This will not help the West Coasters but in Central Tenn is a lake that has a very reasonable priced cabin complex just off the lake. If I remeber right they have 20 2 bedroom cabins. We paid $30O/week. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, called Center Hill Lake. a little Southeast of Nashville near Murfreesboro. I spent 3 weeks there about three years ago. I have actually been there many time as I did my college at Middle Tenn. State in Murfreesboro. It is by no means half way for us westerners but closser than Ft. Erie

just a thoughtMichaelP38777.7067013889

I look forward to seeing many of you at the GAL convention and at Newport.

I'm interested in another gathering, but probably wouldn't be able to make another trip this year.

Is there an ASIA symposium this year or is that every other year? Does anyone know when and where the next one will be?

Nevermind, I just checked the ASIA site. The next will be in 07.John How38777.7503935185

Jim I have no idea where either of those places are. Fort Erie is 15 min from downtown Buffalo NY.
I'll be smack in the middle of my internships.
What, no hospitals in Tacoma? An international goodwill exchange sounds in order! As we know, interns get a lot of time off, so you'd get to hang out at the convention with no problem.

I'd definitely be interested in an OLF get-together. Transportation and finances are a problem for me, but if I could work it out, I'd be there!

I'd sure like to meet up with fellow OLFers at the GAL convention...

as one of the newbies around here I would love have the opertunity to thank all those who have given me more knowledge then I know what to do with, more inspiration then ever expected. I mean who ever thought a guitar like that could be built in the bathroom.    I have never not met a nicer group. I would definatley be interested depending on where and when..

Grand Bend is about 3-4 hours to Fort Erie (think Niagara Falls/Buffalo area, they are about 15 minutes apart). Josh House lives up that way as well .

Cayuga is right down there, about 40 minutes, very close actually.
How about Bruce Dickey's house? It's more centrally located.

Ron
I'd be in for that...depending on the date...we have a graduation and a family reunion in May/June...but I think Bruce is within a few hours of me and a couple other OLF'ers as well....

Some thoughts on the OLF Get-Together
1.I was thinking more of a long weekend type of thing.
2. Wives and children would certainly be welcome.
3. A few days of eating, drinking jaming, swiming and siteseeing. If you havn't seen Niagara Falls it's a must. Also golfing, Casino's, racetrack in close proximity.
4.Lot's of room for everyone except sleeping accomadations. Nice Holiday Inn a few miles away.
5.I would like to go to Newport myself however it wouldn't be a good place for fellow OLF'ers to get together as a group.
6. I realize that the location is not ideal especially for folks not in the N.E. However it is a good place to gather, meet one another and have some fun.Bobc38778.4428935185

Put up a map and throw a dart. It would be really nice for me if it hit Indianapolis, though.

I went to Niagara Falls a couple of years ago, on Canada Day, and the fireworks over the falls were just incredible, i sure hope we can gather at your place Bob, even if it meant sleeping in my mini-van!

Bob, though I'd like to be able to attend, I'll say probably not this year. I've already burned up most of my annual leave on funerals back in Texas lately and regretfully I think there will be another later this year.   It sure would be fun though and the offer is definitely appreciated.

Greetings!

Just returned from a Ministry Conference in Kansas City with my wife, trying to catch up on all the info. I have a really nice ranch in Texas about 2 hours from Dallas...............

I like Texas! I find that much more convenient than that other country. Michael, do you have a bunkhouse that'll sleep 300 or so OLFers?

Hey, I never checked this thread, cause I knew Canada was a stretch for me. Now I see the Southern Branch of the OLF is meeting at my place. Well come on. Ron, Larry, maybe we could get Rector to hit I40 and come in from Okie Territory.

I vote for Central Texas. Strategically located (especially for me),beautiful scenery, and plenty of golf courses. You can't spend all your time in the shop.

The SBOLF, I like that. Bruce can be our regional leader.
